In 1964 the Spanish Zeltia and the British firm Cooper MacDougal & Robertson (later absorbed by The Wellcome Foundation) formed Cooper-Zeltia, a joint venture created to manufacture and market veterinary and chemical products.
After the spin-off of Cooper-Zeltia, Cooper-Zeltia Veterinaria was launched in 1991 as a manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceutical products. CZ Veterinaria S.A. (CZV) was founded on 1 December 1993. Cooper-Zeltia Veterinaria contributed its assets and liabilities to CZV while handing over its technical and scientific expertise and highly qualified personnel.
Within the framework of its expansion strategy, CZV has made significant investments to expand and upgrade the existing facilities, building a large number of manufacturing plants.
